Flow Visualization

Flow visualization is the visible representation of airflow (e.g., with WFI fog) in the cleanroom to ensure correct air guidance and the protection of critical areas according to GMP.

Making flow conditions visible – for secure GMP processes

We visualize airflows according to ISO 14644‑3 as well as ASTM E3379‑25a (“Standard Guide for Critical Airflow Visualization”) and Annex 1, Section 8.109, thereby making previously invisible flow conditions visible.

– for secure, compliant, and efficiently planned cleanrooms.

With CFD, Smoke Studies, and PIV+EBIV, you receive valid data for design, troubleshooting, and GMP compliance.

CFD

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) enables detailed simulation and analysis of airflows already in the planning phase.

Why CFD?

CFD provides a deep understanding of:

– Air movements and flow guidance
– Particle distribution
– Spread of contaminants

This allows critical areas to be identified early and specifically improved.

Your Benefits

Early Planning Certainty
→ Evaluation of design variants before implementation

Targeted Optimization of Ventilation Systems
→ improved cleanroom conditions and process reliability

Reduction of Risks and Costs
→ fewer subsequent adjustments

Transparent Representation of Complex Flows
→ understandable visualization for informed decisions

(PIV) + EBIV

Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) is the state of the art for high-resolution flow measurements in specific applications. Additionally, the new EBIV technology enables innovative, detailed visualization of real flow fields – ideal for verifying complex CFD models and for demanding investigations.

Event Based Imaging Velocimetry (EBIV) is an innovative sensor technology that mimics the function of the human eye. Instead of complete images (frames), only contrast changes at the pixel level are recorded – and asynchronously, meaning exactly when something changes.

Also known under terms such as: Dynamic Vision Sensing (DVS), Neuromorphic Imaging, “Silicon Retina”

Your Benefits in Use

The combination of PIV and EBIV offers decisive advantages:

Very High Temporal Resolution
→ even extremely fast flow processes become visible

Reduced Data Volumes
→ more efficient evaluation compared to classic high-speed cameras

Real-time Capture of Dynamic Processes
→ ideal for unsteady or turbulent flows

High Sensitivity to Small Changes
→ even the smallest movements are precisely detected
